Property

Swiss pine essential oil, when used in moderation, is completely non-toxic and non-irritating; it is a rare and precious conifer essence, highly prized in aromatherapy due to its gentleness. It has antitussive, expectorant, antiseptic, antiviral
, balsamic, rubefacient, and deodorant properties.

Uses

Swiss pine oil is sometimes used in perfumery as a woody base for the composition of natural woodland notes, as well as a fragrance component in personal hygiene products (especially aftershave lotions). It is less commonly used in pharmacies and/or soap-making.
The relevant technical and safety documentation for the product is available upon request.

Botany

Also known as "Cirmolo" or simply "Cembra" (Swiss pine), it is a long-lived evergreen that grows above 1,200 meters above sea level. Native to the mountainous regions of the Alps and Carpathians, it is a cylindrical-conical shrub that reaches up to twenty-five meters in height. It has smooth, gray bark, stiff, dark green needle-like leaves gathered in clusters of five needles (the only wild European pine species with this characteristic), and cones up to seven centimeters long.
Renowned for its value, the wood of this tree is also used to carve sculptures.
