Extraction

Siberian pine essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of needles and twigs. It appears as a nearly colorless liquid with a fresh, woody, balsamic scent. It is frequently adulterated (if not replaced) with the less valuable Russian fir essential oil.

Property

Siberian pine essential oil, when used in moderation, is completely non-toxic and non-irritating; it has antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, balsamic, and deodorant properties. In some Asian regions, it is still the only remedy for pediculosis (lice) and for treating skin affected by excessive sweating.
It blends perfectly with the essential oils of caraway, cypress, copaiba, elemi, mint, nutmeg, and ravensara, as well as with spicy oils and citrus oils.

Uses

Siberian pine essential oil is commonly used in cosmetics, soaps, and personal care products (especially bath products). In the past, it was also a key raw material in the paint industry.
The relevant technical and safety documentation for the product is available upon request.

Botany

The Siberian pine is a tree highly resistant to both intense cold and wind. It is native to the Northern Hemisphere (eastern Russia) and grows in Scandinavia, Siberia, Canada, and northern Europe.
It is an evergreen shrub that grows to over thirty-five meters tall, with a trunk that can reach two meters in diameter. It has single, needle-like leaves, conical cones, and a conical crown.
