Property
Peppermint essential oil, completely non-toxic and non-irritating (except at high concentrations), has balsamic, antiseptic, vermifuge, and antipruritic properties. A traditional toothache reliever, it is excellent for treating acne, bad breath, migraines, and scabies. Furthermore, thanks to its antispasmodic action, it is a supreme remedy for asthma. It blends well with the essential oils of bucchus, eucalyptus, lavender, marjoram, and rosemary, as well as other mints and benzoin absolute.
Uses
Peppermint essential oil is used in mouthwashes, toothpastes, disinfectants, and cough medicines. Found as a flavoring agent in many foods and chewing gum, it is also widely used in soaps and perfumes. The relevant technical and safety documentation for the product is available upon request.
Botany
Originating from a hybrid cultivated since the sixteenth century in England, peppermint is therefore also called "English mint". It is a herbaceous plant up to one meter tall, with lanceolate leaves covered in fine, bright green hairs and a strong aroma.
