Property

Lovage is an herb with an ancient medicinal reputation, believed to be beneficial for eyesight and used primarily to treat digestive disorders and skin conditions.
The essential oil extracted from its leaves, completely non-toxic and non-irritating, has antiseptic, purifying, and stimulating properties.
When applied to the skin, avoid sunlight, as it is phototoxic.
It blends well with spicy oils, oakmoss absolute, and lavender, opoponax, and rose essential oils.

Uses

A precious and sought-after aromatic raw material, the essential oil obtained from Lovage leaves is traditionally used as a flavoring agent in perfumery, soap making, liqueur making, and tobacco products.
The relevant technical and safety documentation for the product is available upon request.

Botany

Also known as "mountain celery", lovage is a large, aromatic, herbaceous perennial. It grows up to two meters tall and has a hollow stem, a fleshy root, and dense foliage.
Native to southern Europe and western Asia, it has also become naturalized in North America. It grows wild in mountain pastures.
