Property

Helichrysum essential oil, non-toxic and non-irritating, has well-known anti-allergic, healing, fungicidal, expectorant, and antiseptic properties. It is also believed that, in cases of stress or depression, relaxing in an environment where this essential oil has been diffused provides appreciable relief. A diffuser can be used for this purpose.
This natural product has also proven effective against psoriasis.
It harmonizes well with the essential oils of: chamomile, clove, cistus, geranium, lavender, ravensara, rose, clary sage, with all citrus oils, as well as with oakmoss absolute.

Uses

Helichrysum essential oil is used as a fixative and a component in fragrances that deodorize soaps, cosmetics, and perfumes. It is also a well-known tobacco flavoring.

Botany

Native to the eastern Mediterranean basin and North Africa, Helichrysum is now cultivated in Italy, Spain, France, and Croatia.
It is a highly aromatic herbaceous plant with a branched stem, pubescent leaves, and characteristic daisy-like flowers, which, drying as the plant grows, retain their color. Growing up to sixty centimeters tall, it typically grows in arid, stony soil.
