Extraction
Cardamom essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the dried seeds. It appears as a colorless (or vaguely yellowish) liquid with a characteristic warm, spicy-sweet scent with woody-balsamic undertones.
Property
Cardamom essential oil has always been renowned for its revitalizing and toning properties for mature skin; however, this fragrant oil also boasts strong antiseptic (disinfectant) and purifying properties. It is also an effective remedy for eczema and psoriasis. It blends well with the essential oils of orange, bergamot, cinnamon, caraway, cedar, clove, cistus, neroli, and ylang-ylang.
Uses

Botany
Native to tropical Asia (mainly southern India), cardamom is widely cultivated in India and Central America. It is a reed-like herbaceous perennial with characteristic saber-shaped leaves. It grows up to four meters tall and produces yellowish flowers with purple tips, gathered in spikes.
