Extraction

Caraway essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried seeds. It appears as an amber-yellow liquid with a characteristic warm, sweet, and spicy aroma reminiscent of bread.

Property

Caraway essential oil, non-toxic and non-irritating (when used in moderation), has antiseptic, vermifuge, larvicidal, tonic, and stimulant properties; in aromatherapy, it is considered a cough reliever.
It blends well with all spice oils, particularly cinnamon.

Uses

The essential oil extracted from caraway seeds is used as a fragrance component in mouthwashes, toothpastes, cosmetics, and perfumes due to its "masking" properties. It is also widely used as a flavoring in various foods and as a seasoning for bread, cakes, and cheeses. A brandy is also produced from it: the German "Kümmel" is distilled from caraway seeds.
The relevant technical and safety documentation for the product is available upon request.

Botany

Growing wild in Europe and Western Asia, caraway is widely cultivated in Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and Russia.
It is a herbaceous plant that grows to a height of about 75 cm, with a highly branched stem, serrated leaves, and umbels of white flowers. There are several varieties depending on the plant's geographic origin.
