Extracted by steam distillation of fresh leaves and twigs, Cajeput essential oil is a clear, green liquid with a strong, balsamic-camphoraceous, medicinal odor.
Property
Cajeput essential oil is completely non-toxic and, when used in moderation, is not even irritating. In the East, it is highly regarded as a remedy for respiratory ailments in general. It has balsamic, antiseptic, antiviral, purifying, expectorant, parasiticide, and anesthetic properties. It is also recommended for treating insect bites. It blends perfectly with the essential oils of cedar, lavender, lemon, marjoram, and red thyme.
Uses

Botany
Also known as the "paperbark tree", the Cajeput is a large evergreen tree that grows wild throughout Southeast Asia and Australia. It reaches up to thirty meters in height and has a flexible trunk, bushy leaves, and white flowers.
