Description

Vanilla essence of high perfumery.
Due to high costs, but above all to the limited availability of the product on the market, vanilla is now replaced with synthetic vanillin, whose characteristics in any case coincide completely with the natural one, as the two are absolutely identical.

Our exclusive 13.5 ml (0.46 fl. oz.) bottle in special transparent neutral glass enhances the chromatic properties of the various oils: each is visible in its natural color, completely unique like the scent it releases. Each bottle is equipped with a special heat-shrinkable transparent polymer seal to guarantee (in accordance with the regulations) its tamper-proof nature.

Extraction

Through a process lasting over six months, the vanilla pods are fermented and dried; an oleoresin is then extracted with a solvent, which is then distilled to obtain the absolute. This is a viscous liquid with a slightly balsamic scent, rich and very sweet, that harmonizes with all spicy oils (especially cinnamon and ginger) but is also excellent when blended with sandalwood, vetiver, and benzoin absolute. P.S.: Due to limited global production, virtually all commercial vanilla essences—including those intended for food flavoring—are synthetic products. However, in terms of composition, these are virtually indistinguishable from the expensive (and now rare) natural absolute.

Property

Completely non-toxic, vanilla has no specific aromatherapeutic properties; the flavoring power of both our fragrance and the natural absolute is well known.
Vanilla absolute is a natural raw material widely used in the past to flavor tobacco, ice cream, yogurt, and chocolate.

Uses

Our Vanilla is used in the composition of fragrances intended for perfumery (harmonization of oriental notes) as well as a flavoring agent in some pharmaceutical preparations for external use.

Botany

Native to the east coast of Mexico, vanilla is a variety of orchid that grows up to twenty-five meters tall. It is a perennial climbing plant that naturally thrives in the rainforest understory. It features green stems and large white, greenish, or yellowish flowers. The fruit consists of a pod, which, after about nine months on the plant, is harvested for extensive processing (which is mostly done in Europe and North America). The main crops are found in Central America, Madagascar, Tahiti, East Africa, and Indonesia. There are several different species of vanilla.
