Description

It would be possible to extract an absolute from the small flowers of the Osmanthus tree, but due to the prohibitive costs, there are practically no natural essences obtained in this way on the market; therefore, every available perfume (in reality, not many) is the result of a perfumery reconstruction. Our thematic fragrance represents a composition with a rich floral note, closely resembling that released by the small autumn flowers.

Our exclusive 13.5 ml (0.46 fl. oz.) bottle in special transparent neutral glass enhances the chromatic properties of the various oils: each is visible in its natural color, completely unique, like the scent it releases. Each bottle is equipped with a special heat-shrinkable transparent polymer seal to guarantee (in accordance with the regulations) its tamper-proof nature.

Extraction

Osmanthus flowers can be extracted into an absolute through solvent extraction that harmonizes well with gardenia and broom; it is an extremely rare and expensive material, and—as is—absolutely unusable by the potential end consumer.

Uses

Our Osmanthus flower essence is used in perfumery to create warm floral notes, in cosmetics and, sporadically, in the making of soaps.

Botany

Osmanthus is native to China and Japan, and is also known as "Olea fragrans".
It is an evergreen shrub of the Oleaceae family that can reach twenty meters in height. It is a typical ornamental plant in the gardens of historic villas in the Lombardy lake district. It is characterized by oblong, dark green leaves, blue fruits, and small, fragrant, tubular flowers that bloom in late summer. Their delicate yet intense scent is reminiscent of gardenia flowers, while some say it evokes the aroma of freshly baked cake. This scent is particularly striking in autumn, as few flowers bloom naturally during this season.
