Our exclusive 13.5 ml (0.46 fl. oz.) bottle in special transparent neutral glass enhances the chromatic properties of the various oils: each is visible in its natural color, completely unique like the scent it releases. Each bottle is equipped with a special heat-shrinkable transparent polymer seal to guarantee (in compliance with regulations) its tamper-proof nature.

Extraction

Peppermint essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the entire flowering plant and is commonly dementholized to prevent it from solidifying. It is a clear, nearly colorless liquid with a penetrating, minty, herbaceous scent, similar to peppermint. It blends well with benzoin absolute and the essential oils of bucchus, eucalyptus, lavender, marjoram, rosemary, rue, and other mints.

Property

Mint enjoys an ancient herbal tradition in both the East and the West. Galen considered it a medicinal plant. The essential oil of field mint, completely non-toxic and non-irritating (except at high concentrations), has balsamic, antiseptic, and analgesic properties.

Uses

Peppermint essential oil is used in mouthwashes, toothpastes, disinfectants, detergents, and industrial fragrances, as well as in perfumery and soap making. Pure (unstabilized) essential oil is used as a flavoring agent in confectionery, liqueurs, and chewing gum.

Botany

Native to Europe and some Asian regions such as China and Japan, mint now grows wild throughout North America. It is a fragile herbaceous plant up to sixty centimeters tall with lanceolate leaves and flowers clustered in terminal spikelets. Most of the essential oil is produced in India, China, and South America.
