Description

100% pure and concentrated essential oil of natural origin in an 11.3 ml (0.34 fl. oz.) glass bottle ; this product is completely free from: stabilizers, fixatives, pesticides, GMOs and treatments (even of semi-finished products) with gamma rays and has been packaged and sealed as it came, i.e., without having undergone any transformation and/or alteration of any kind and in the most diligent observance of all laboratory precautions. In accordance with EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are highly pure, many essential oils (including star anise) are declared "food flavourings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Extraction

Star anise essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the partially dried fruits and appears as a clear, light yellow liquid with a distinctive sweet, spicy, licorice-like scent.

Affinity

Star Anise essential oil harmonizes excellently with the essential oils of: Dill, Green Anise, Caraway, Elemi, Mint, Nutmeg, citrus oils and spice oils.

Property

In China, for over 1,300 years, anise has been a supreme remedy for treating both digestive disorders and various respiratory conditions.
Anise badiana essential oil, non-toxic and non-irritating, can be slightly narcotic if used in excessive quantities; it has stimulant and expectorant properties.

Botany

Native to tropical Asia, star anise is also known as "Anise badiana". It grows wild in southeastern China, Vietnam, India, and Japan.
It is a tropical evergreen tree with a slender stem up to twelve meters tall. It produces characteristic star-shaped fruits containing up to thirty seeds.
