In accordance with EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are highly pure, many essential oils (including Ethiopian Oljbanum) are declared "food flavourings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Attention

Absolutely avoid the " do-it-yourself" internal use of essential oils,as this can be highly dangerous. It is advisable to always proceed with a medical prescription issued exclusively by a competent and qualified professional.
As per the declaration of conformity published in the brochure, this essential oil was obtained exclusively from the processing of natural plant raw materials. The
information leaflet included with the packaging contains all the information relating to the natural preparation, including the analytical bulletin, the declaration of conformity, the botanical description, the possibility of use as a " food flavoring", etc.

Extraction

Ethiopian Frankincense essential oil is obtained by steam distilling the resin that spontaneously exudes from the stem. It appears as a pale yellow liquid with a warm, sweet, resinous-balsamic scent.

Affinity

Ethiopian Frankincense essential oil blends well with Myrrh absolute, all spicy oils, and the essential oils of Orange, Basil, Bergamot, Camphor, Cinnamon, Cedar, Geranium, Frankincense, Lavender, Neroli, Opoponax, Black Pepper, Sandalwood, and Vetiver. Combining these with citrus oils creates intriguing notes, effectively toning down the sweetness of the top note.

Property

The therapeutic use of this genus of plants is ancient, both in the East and the West.
Non-toxic and non-irritating, Ethiopian Frankincense essential oil is a truly rare aromatic raw material, as collecting the resin from which it is obtained requires venturing into extremely arid and inaccessible regions. It has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, sedative, and even healing properties; it is also recommended for combating skin dryness, wrinkles, and scars.

Uses

An excellent fixative and an excellent ingredient in the composition of oriental fragrances, Ethiopian Frankincense essential oil finds limited use due to its very limited production.

Botany

Frankincense (or simply "frankincense") is native to the regions bordering the Red Sea. It is a graceful small tree that grows wild throughout northeastern Africa. It features rich foliage and pinkish-white flowers. Ethiopian Frankincense is a variety endemic to the Ogaden, the desert plateaus of southern Ethiopia, where Homo sapiens first emerged. Its brown, sugary resin has been collected for millennia for use both as a fuel for aromatic fumigations and as a fragrant material itself.
