Description

Concentrated absolute essence in an 11.3 ml (0.34 fl. oz.) glass vial ; this product is completely free from: stabilizers, fixatives, pesticides, GMOs and treatments (even of semi-finished products) with gamma rays and has been packaged and sealed as it came, i.e., without having undergone any transformation and/or alteration of any kind and in the most diligent observance of all laboratory precautions. As per the declaration of conformity published in the brochure, this absolute essence originated exclusively from the processing of plant raw materials of natural origin. The explanatory brochure that accompanies the packaging contains all the information relating to the natural preparation, including the analytical bulletin, the declaration of conformity, the botanical description, the possibility of use as a "food flavoring", etc.

Extraction

Oakmoss absolute is obtained by solvent extraction from lichen macerated in warm water. It appears as a very dark brown-green liquid that releases a persistent earthy-mossy scent with a leathery undertone.

Affinity

Oakmoss absolute is highly prized, especially because its distinctive woody note harmonizes perfectly with almost any essential oil, as well as with all other absolutes.

Property

Oakmoss absolute oil has antiseptic, emollient, expectorant and fixative properties.

Uses

An excellent stabilizer, oakmoss absolute is used in both high-end perfumery (especially in the formulation of oriental notes) and in ordinary perfumery. It is virtually irreplaceable for adding body and rich, natural nuances to all types of compositions. It is widely used as a fragrance component in soap making as well as in many hair lotions.

Botany

Also known as oakmoss, oakmoss is a light green lichen that grows spontaneously, especially on the bark of oak trees. It is harvested primarily in France (where it is processed), Greece, and Hungary. There are various species of lichen used for their aromatic properties, but all are far less valuable than oakmoss.
