Description

100% pure and natural essential oil of documented organic origin (Certificate CE-009577-2015) in an 11.3 ml (0.34 fl. oz.) glass bottle ; this product, also suitable for food use according to EC Regulation 1334/2008, is completely free from: stabilizers, fixatives, pesticides, GMOs and treatments (even of semi-finished products) with gamma rays and has been packaged and sealed as it came, i.e., without having undergone any transformation and/or alteration of any kind and in the most diligent observance of all laboratory precautions. According to EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are very pure, many essential oils (including Myrtle) are declared "food flavorings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Extraction

Extracted by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs, Myrtle essential oil is a dark orange liquid with a fresh, sweet, herbaceous scent with a balsamic, camphorated undertone.

Affinity

Myrtle essential oil harmonizes perfectly with the essential oils of: Bergamot, Clove, Hyssop, Noble Laurel, Lavender, Litsea cubeba, Melissa, Ravensara, Rosemary and Ginger.

Property

Myrtle leaves and flowers were the main ingredients in the preparation of the so-called "Angel Water", a cosmetic lotion popular in the 16th century.
Mildly sedative, myrtle essential oil has balsamic and antiseptic properties. It is also excellent for counteracting oily skin.

Uses

Myrtle essential oil is commonly used in the production of colognes and toilet waters. Less commonly, it is used in the production of condiments in the food industry.

Botany

Also known as "Corsica pepper" or "Mortella," myrtle grows wild throughout the Mediterranean region. It is a small evergreen shrub native to North Africa with thick, sturdy branches, sharp, bright green leathery leaves, and pinkish-white flowers. Its leaves and flowers are very fragrant.
