In accordance with EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are highly pure, many essential oils (including Artemisia) are declared "food flavourings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Attention

Absolutely avoid the " do-it-yourself" internal use of essential oils,as this can be highly dangerous. It is advisable to always proceed with a medical prescription issued exclusively by a competent and qualified professional.
As per the declaration of conformity published in the brochure, this essential oil was obtained exclusively from the processing of natural plant raw materials. The
information leaflet included with the packaging contains all the information relating to the natural preparation, including the analytical bulletin, the declaration of conformity, the botanical description, the possibility of use as a " food flavoring," etc.

Extraction

Artemisia essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops. It is a nearly colorless liquid with a powerful, camphorous, bittersweet, herbaceous odor.

Affinity

Artemisia essential oil harmonizes well with the essential oils of: Cedar, Lavender, Patchouli, Pine, Ravensara, Rosemary, Sage as well as with Oakmoss absolute.

Property

In Europe, Aetemisia has been associated with witchcraft and superstition for centuries, considered a true "protective charm against evil".
Due to its thujone content, Artemisia essential oil is toxic and therefore lacks any effective aromatherapeutic properties. Used in extreme moderation, it is nevertheless an effective remedy for treating chapped skin, scabies, and sores.

Uses

The classic use of Artemisia essential oil is in perfumery (colognes) and in soap making, as a fragrance component.

Botany

Also known as "wild wormwood", Artemisia grows wild in nearly every temperate zone of the world.
It is a perennial herbaceous plant, up to one and a half meters tall, with many branches. It has dark green lanceolate leaves covered with a whitish down on the underside, and brownish, red, or yellow flowers. There are numerous species of Artemisia.
