Attention

Absolutely avoid the " do-it-yourself" internal use of essential oils,as this can be highly dangerous. It is advisable to always proceed with a medical prescription issued exclusively by a competent and qualified professional.
As per the declaration of conformity published in the brochure, the plant-based raw materials selected and processed for the production of this essential oil are of scrupulous and certified organic origin. This, in concrete terms, guarantees the provenance of the material from a farm management system that substantially limits the use of fertilizers and pesticides, in order to protect both the harvest and the environment, as well as promote sustainable agricultural development.
The information leaflet included with the packaging contains all the information regarding the natural preparation, including the analytical bulletin, declaration of conformity, botanical description, and the possibility of use as a " food flavoring", etc.

Extraction

Litsea cubeba essential oil is obtained by steam distilling the plant's seeds and leaves and appears as a clear, straw-yellow liquid with a fresh, fruity scent reminiscent of lemon.

Affinity

Litsea cubeba essential oil blends well with all citrus oils (especially Lemon, Neroli, and Grapefruit), Verbena, and spice oils.

Property

In the Far East, the flowers, leaves, and fruits of Litsea cubeba are a traditional herbal remedy for treating various health problems.
The non-toxic and non-irritating essential oil is known in aromatherapy for its refreshing and antidepressant properties. It is a remedy for acne and dermatitis in general, but is also effective in treating skin characterized by excessive sweating.

Uses

Litsea cubeba essential oil is widely used in the formulation of air fresheners, colognes, soaps, and personal hygiene products. The fruit beverage industry uses it as a classic flavoring, but its most significant use is certainly as a starting material for both the isolation of natural citral and the synthesis of vitamin A.

Botany

Also known as "tropical verbena" and native to China (where it is called "May Chang"), Litsea cubeba is also traditionally grown in Taiwan and Japan.
It is a small, evergreen tropical tree with fragrant leaves and flowers. Its small fruits are shaped like peppercorns. Its heartwood is prized for its hardwood.
