Description

100% pure and concentrated essential oil of natural origin in an 11.3 ml (0.34 fl. oz.) glass bottle ; this product is completely free from: stabilizers, fixatives, pesticides, GMOs and treatments (even of semi-finished products) with gamma rays and has been packaged and sealed as it came, i.e., without having undergone any transformation and/or alteration of any kind and in the most diligent observance of all laboratory precautions. In accordance with EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are highly pure, many essential oils (including that of Field Mint) are declared "food flavourings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Extraction

Peppermint essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the entire flowering plant and is commonly dementholized to prevent it from solidifying. It is a clear, almost colorless liquid with a pungent, minty, herbaceous scent, similar to peppermint.

Affinity

Field Mint essential oil blends well with Benzoin absolute as well as the essential oils of: Bucco, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Marjoram, Peppermint, Hairy Mint and Rosemary.

Property

Mint enjoys an ancient herbal tradition in both the East and the West. Galen considered it a medicinal plant.
The essential oil of field mint, completely non-toxic and non-irritating (except at high concentrations), has balsamic, antiseptic, and analgesic properties.

Uses

Field mint essential oil is used in mouthwashes, toothpastes, disinfectants, detergents, and industrial fragrances. It is used as a flavoring agent in pastry, liqueur, soap, and perfumery, as well as in chewing gum. Its most important use remains as an essential raw material for isolating natural menthol.

Botany

Native to Europe and some Asian regions such as China and Japan, field mint now grows wild throughout North America.
It is a fragile herbaceous plant up to sixty centimeters tall with serrated, lanceolate leaves and flowers clustered in terminal spikelets.
Most of the oil is produced in India, China, and South America.
