The information leaflet included with the packaging contains all the information regarding the natural preparation, including the analytical bulletin, declaration of conformity, botanical description, and the possibility of use as a " food flavoring", etc.

Extraction

Clove essential oil is obtained by water distillation of cloves. It appears as a clear yellow liquid with an intense, fresh, sweet-spicy, slightly pungent scent.

Affinity

Clove essential oil harmonizes well with the essential oils of: Bergamot, Frankincense, Lavender, Black Pepper, Clary Sage, Vanilla and Ylang Ylang.

Property

Clove has been cultivated for over two thousand years; the tincture and infusion obtained from its cloves are an ancient medicinal remedy. In traditional Chinese pharmacopoeia, it is indicated as a remedy for numerous ailments, such as diarrhea, bad breath, bronchitis, scabies, digestive problems, etc.
Cloves, in addition to being a household spice, are widely used throughout the world to relieve toothache. In Indonesia, they are traditionally smoked with tobacco (Kretak cigarettes).
Clove essential oil has antibiotic, antiseptic, larvicidal, and vermifuge properties. It is also excellent for fighting acne and for treating burns and skin ulcers. However, it should never be used pure, as it is an irritant oil: it is always best to dissolve it first in a vegetable oil (olive, almond, or sesame).
It is also worth remembering its insect-repellent properties (especially effective against mosquitoes).

Uses

Clove essential oil is used in the formulation of dental medications, toothpastes, cosmetics, perfumes, printing inks, and paints.
It is also a starting material for isolating natural eugenol.

Botany

Probably native to Indonesia, cloves are now cultivated worldwide (especially in the Philippines, the Moluccas, and Madagascar).
It grows as a slender tree, up to twelve meters tall, with a smooth trunk and large, glossy, lanceolate leaves. At the beginning of the rainy season, flower buds containing the cloves appear; when dried, they are the most common commercial spice.
