Description

100% pure and concentrated essential oil of natural origin in an 11.3 ml (0.34 fl. oz. ) glass bottle ; this product is completely free from: stabilizers, fixatives, pesticides, GMOs and treatments (even of semi-finished products) with gamma rays and has been packaged and sealed as it came, i.e., without having undergone any transformation and/or alteration of any kind and in the most diligent observance of all laboratory precautions. In accordance with EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are highly pure, many essential oils (including Bitter Orange) are declared "food flavourings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Extraction

Orange essential oil is obtained by cold pressing the fresh peels and appears as a clear, dark yellow liquid with a dry, citrusy scent with a floral undertone.

Affinity

Bitter Orange essential oil harmonizes well with the essential oils of: Cinnamon, Clove, Lavender, Lemon, Neroli, Nutmeg, Clary Sage as well as with Myrrh absolute.

Property

Bitter orange essential oil, completely non-toxic, is a true natural antidepressant that also has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, fungicidal, and tonic properties. It is also excellent for treating dull and oily skin; however, since it is phototoxic, it should always be used sparingly.

Uses

Bitter orange essential oil is used in perfumery, cosmetics, soap making, and detergents. It is also widely used in the food industry as a flavoring.

Botany

Native to the Far East, the bitter orange tree has adapted well to the climate of the Mediterranean regions, where it is widely cultivated. Also known as the "melangolo", it is a small evergreen tree up to ten meters tall with smooth branches, featuring oval, glossy dark green leaves, long thorns, and fragrant white flowers. The fruit is smaller and darker than that of the common sweet orange. Highly disease-resistant, it is widely used for grafting with other citrus plants.
