Description

Concentrated absolute essence in an 11.3 ml (0.34 fl. oz.) glass vial ; this product is completely free from: stabilizers, fixatives, pesticides, GMOs and gamma irradiation treatments (even of semi-finished products) and has been packaged and sealed as it came, i.e., without having undergone any transformation and/or alteration of any kind and in the most diligent observance of all laboratory precautions. In accordance with EC Regulation 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union, provided they are very pure, many absolute oils (including Benzoin) are declared "food flavourings" and can therefore be taken as supplements.

Attention

Absolutely avoid the " do-it-yourself" internal use of essential oils,as this can be highly dangerous. It is advisable to always proceed with a medical prescription issued exclusively by a competent and qualified professional.
As per the declaration of conformity published in the brochure, this absolute essence was created exclusively from the processing of natural plant raw materials. The
information leaflet included with the packaging contains all the information relating to the natural preparation, including the analytical bulletin, the declaration of conformity, the botanical description, the possibility of use as a " food flavoring," etc.

Extraction

Benzoin absolute is obtained by treating the resin with solvents, which are then removed from the solution. It appears as a brown-orange liquid with an intense sweet-vanilla scent.

Affinity

Benzoin absolute blends well with a large number of oils, but particularly with Myrrh absolute and the essential oils of: Agarwood, Copaiba, Nutmeg, Opoponax, Frankincense, Black Pepper, Sandalwood and Vetiver.

Property

In China, benzoin gum has been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes (digestive, antiseptic, etc.). In the East, it has been used for thousands of years both as a medicine and for aromatic-ritual fumigations: in fact, it is still believed that the pleasant fumigations produced by its combustion drive away all kinds of adversities from the home.
In the West, benzoin tincture (the famous "Monks' Balm") was for centuries a supreme remedy for respiratory ailments of various kinds.
A prized aromatic raw material, benzoin absolute has been known for centuries for its anti-inflammatory, deodorant, and preservative properties.

Uses

Today, benzoin is used both as a component and as a fixative in fragrances that deodorize soaps, cosmetics, drugs, and perfumes.
In fine perfumery, its alcoholic tincture and absolute essence remain indispensable fixatives. Finally, it is also used in the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage industry as a flavoring ingredient.

Botany

Native to tropical Asia (Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia), Benzoin grows into a large tree, up to twenty meters tall, with light green leaves similar to those of citrus fruits. Deep incisions in the stem allow the plant to exude a pathological resin; this secretion hardens upon contact with air and exposure to sunlight, forming solid masses with a characteristic orange-yellow color known as "benzoin gum" or "Java incense."
