Emollient

Emollient properties, attributed to substances such as essential oils, extracts, or other preparations, consist of the ability to soften the skin, improving its elasticity and softness to the touch. This effect is achieved by reducing dryness, soothing any irritation, and supporting the skin's natural tone. Emollients come in the form of oils (commonly plant-based), ointments, or topical creams. They work by restoring the skin's barrier, thus softening, soothing, and hydrating the skin, making it smoother and more elastic.
The use of an emollient product is essential for combating dry skin, both in general and in the presence of dermatological problems such as dermatitis.
