Extraction

Yarrow essential oil is a blue liquid with a strong, fresh, herbaceous-camphoraceous odor, obtained by steam distilling the dried plant.

Property

Yarrow essential oil is effective in treating acne, burns, inflammation, and lacerations. It is also beneficial for insomnia and hypertension.
It harmonizes perfectly with the essential oils of chamomile, cedar, juniper, pine, valerian, vetiver, and oakmoss absolute.

Uses

Yarrow essential oil is occasionally used in pharmaceutical preparations for dermatological purposes. It is also used as a flavoring in liqueurs (bitters).

Botany

Native to Eurasia, Achillea is also known as "yarrow". Today, it grows in most temperate regions of the world, where it has fully acclimated. It is a herbaceous perennial plant up to one meter tall, with lace-like leaves and small pinkish-white flowers.
