Extraction
Neroli essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of fresh orange blossom petals and appears as a clear, ochre-yellow liquid with a fresh, delicate floral scent, with a base note reminiscent of the velvety scent of bergamot. The yield from this process is extremely low, making it a notoriously valuable raw material.
Property
Neroli essential oil, non-toxic and non-irritating, is a true natural antidepressant. It is excellent for treating scars, stretch marks, and mature skin in general, thanks to its tonic properties.
It blends beautifully with almost any essential oil, especially citrus oils, as well as those of: chamomile, coriander, geranium, lavender, opoponax, rose, clary sage, ylang ylang, and even benzoin absolute.

Uses
Neroli is typically used as a fragrance component and fixative in high-end perfumery (citrus notes). It is occasionally used in the food industry.

Botany
The fragrant white flowers of the orange tree produce the highly prized oil known as "Neroli" or "Orange Blossom" essence.
Native to the Far East and well adapted to the Mediterranean climate, the orange tree is a small evergreen tree up to ten meters tall, with oval, glossy dark green leaves, long thorns, and smooth branches. Highly disease-resistant, it is widely used for grafting with other citrus plants.
