CAJEPUTMelaleuca leucadendron (Lamiacee)
Also known as the paperbark tree, the cajeput is a large evergreen tree that grows spontaneously in southeast Asia and Australia.
It can reach a height of thirty metres and has a flexible trunk, thick foliage and white flowers.
The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the fresh leaves and twigs. It is transparent, with a distinctive green colour and a strongly medicinal, balmy-camphorous scent. It combines well with the essential oils of Citron, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram and red Thyme.
