UNRIPE MANDARINCitrus reticulata (Rutacee)
Type: Organic (CE certification 009577-2015) Origin: Italy (Sicily)
Originally from southern China, the Mandarin was brought to Europe in 1805 and is now principally cultivated in Italy, Spain, Algeria and Brazil.
It's an evergreen tree with glossy leaves, fragrant flowers and fleshy fruit.
Its name derives from the traditional gift made to the Mandarins of China.
EXTRACTION OLFACTIVE AFFINITIES The essential oil is obtained by cold pressing the fresh peels of the unripe fruit, and is a clear, bright green liquid with a fresh, citric, almost floral fragrance that’s quite unique. It combines well with all the other citrus oils (especially Neroli) and with spice oils such Cinnamon, Clove and Nutmeg.
