VIOLETPerfume
The violet is native to Europe. It is a small and delicate herbaceous perennial plant that grows to a height of fifteen centimetres. It has heart-shaped leaves, fragrant indigo-blue flowers and creeping roots.
It's grown for ornamental purposes in gardens all over the world.
There are over two hundred species of violet, but only two varieties, Parma and Victoria, are used for extraction of the precious aromatic principle.
EXTRACTION OLFACTIVE AFFINITIES Violet essence is a natural absolute extracted from the flowers of the plant. It is a greenish-yellow liquid with a rich, sweet, floral scent that combines excellently with the essential oils of Clary Sage, Basil, Cumin, Neroli, Orange, Rose, Tarragon and with floral oils in general.
PROPERTIES (according to popular herbalist tradition)
The violet has a long tradition in phytotherapy. Its leaves makes an excellent natural mouthwash and for centuries have been used for treating infections of the oral cavity. The scent of violet was formerly believed to have the ability to "comfort the heart".
Violet absolute extracted from the flowers is almost impossible to find and prohibitively expensive to produce. The absolute used in fine fragrances and high-end perfumes is extracted from the green part of the plant. Even this absolute is costly to produce and, with its acrid grassy odour and its colloid consistency, of no use to the end consumer in its raw state.
For these reasons we offer our affordable violet scented oil: a warm and seductive fragrance, offers an alternative to the extremely expensive natural absolute extracted from the flowers. An excellent composition that’s used in perfumes, cosmetics and occasionally in soaps.
