MAGNOLIAPerfume
Originally found in the southern United States, Japan, China and Korea, Magnolia exists in some eighty species of shrubs and trees. It is evergreen, semi-evergreen or deciduous, and valued as an ornamental plant. It has large, leathery, elliptical, glossy leaves, dark green on the top, paler and slightly reddish below. Most species of magnolia flower in spring.
The blossoms are large and showy, of different shapes and colours from one variety to another, but always highly fragrant.
A well-tended Magnolia can grow to majestic proportions and graces every environment with its presence. Outside of its native regions, it's also found in European gardens.
PROPERTIES The leaves and flowers of the Magnolia yield an essential oil that's extracted by solvents, followed by alcohol treatment and low-pressure distillation.
Producing this oil is an extremely laborious process and it is rarely made nowadays.
Nearly all commercially available oils, therefore, are reconstitutions.
Our Magnolia oil is a result of the painstaking selection and combination of the ingredients found in real Magnolia blossom. Its note is a surprisingly accurate reproduction of the heady pleasure experienced when immersing one's nose in the fragrant softness of fresh Magnolia blossoms.
It's excellent as a fine personal perfume and for creating olfactive atmospheres when used in a diffuser.
It's typically used in high-class perfumes, but can also be found as a fragrance component in cosmetics and soaps.
