FREESIAPerfume
Originally from southern Africa and now grown in Europe and North America as an ornamental plant. The first variety to be available commercially in Europe was Fresia refracta, around 1870.
It is a tuberous herbaceous plant, with sword-shaped leaves and highly scented flowers with colours ranging from yellow and bright orange to lilac and violet.
PROPERTIES
No natural essential oil is extracted from the freesia; all commercial oils are therefore of synthetic origin.
Our Freesia oil is highly esteemed for its decisively floral note, an excellent recreation of the fragrance given off by the fresh flowers.
It's used in cosmetics, and occasionally in perfumes with notes of dried flowers.
