CAMELLIAPerfume
Originally from Japan, Camellia was brought into Europe in the 17th century.
It is an evergreen shrub with oval, leathery ovate leaves and large white flowers.
It's widely grown for ornamental purposes.
PROPERTIES No natural essential oil is extracted from the Camellia; any such oil you see on sale is therefore a synthetic reconstitution.
For decades Camellia-scented oil was the scent of the first talcum powders sold commercially.
It has a distinctively delicate and persistent scent.
Our Camellia oil is used in perfumes and, until a few years ago, for the production of toiletries.
