TEA TREE OIL
N.B.: product available certified organic ultra-pure oil The tea tree is native to Australia (New South Wales), where it grows beside streams and marshes, often as the dominant species. It grows to a height of over five metres, and has deep roots, linear leaves and small yellow flowers gathered in bunches. It takes its name from the local custom of making infusions from its leaves.
EXTRACTION OLFACTIVE AFFINITIES The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs, and is a transparent, near-colourless liquid with a strong, fresh, penetrating, camphoraceous fragrance. It combines well with oakmoss absolute, all spicy oils (especially clove and nutmeg) and the essential oils of Clary sage, Lavender, Marjoram, Parsley, Ravensara, Rosemary and Ylang-ylang.
PROPERTIES (according to popular herbalist tradition)
Our knowledge of the properties of the tea tree primarily derives from the Australian aborigines, who have used it medicinally for thousands of years.
Essential oil of Tea tree is something of a natural cure-all. As amply proven by rigorous scientific research, it has the exceptionally rare characteristic of being simultaneously active against all three strains of infection-causing organisms: bacteria, fungi and virus. Totally non-toxic and non-irritating, it has anti-inflammatory, anti-septic, balsamic and parasiticide properties. It's also a powerful natural immunostimulant. All of these precious benefits can be enjoyed when the oil is administered through a diffusor: the mere propagation of the essence through the atmosphere helps cure sinusitis, flu and colds.
Tea tree oil is also an excellent remedy for acne, skin blemishes, fungal infections, warts and oily skin.
It’s commonly used in the formulation of antifungal medicines, disinfectants, mouthwash, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorants and colognes with a spicy note.
